Is God Real? Christians, Muslims and all folks as this question

by David K. on Apr.30, 2009, under Faith, Follow, Research

Proof of existence and trying to know if God is real is the center for many discussions. Is God real? Surprisingly, this fundamental question is simplistic in nature. It is solved by asking another question, “Where did everything come from?” Where did space, time, matter, energy and information come from?
Theists have always acknowledged an Intelligent Designer as being the source of all things.

Is God Real? The Evolution Paradigm

Is God real? Not if you ask British Naturalist Charles Darwin. In 1859, Darwin purposed a mechanism by which evolutionary descent from a common ancestor may be possible without resorting to a Creator God.

Kurt Cameron takes on the idea In March 2006 on “Nightline”.

The way of the master is a Christian ministry headed by Cameron and itinerant preacher Ray Comfort. Operating as a charitable trust, its intention is to educate and equip the church to preach the message of Christianity to nonbelievers. Cameron says he is motivated by a literal fear of hell.

“I believe the Scriptures teach that there’s a literal heaven and a literal hell, just like Jesus said,” he explained. “And without forgiveness of sins that, yeah, the place of punishment is called hell.”

The Way of the Master has a weekly television show for which Comfort and Cameron literally hit the streets in the name of Jesus, challenging nonbelievers that their sins against God will lead directly to hell.

“On the Day of Judgment,” Comfort tells one man on the streets of New York, “God will see you as a lying, thieving, blasphemous, adulterer at heart. You have sinned against God. You need his forgiveness.”

What is Intelligent Design: ID Simplified

by David K. on Apr.12, 2009, under FAQ, Research, Science, Thought

Science and religion controversies began well before Charles The trial of Galileo in 1633 for publishing Dialogue, a book that supported the Copernican theory that the earth revolved around the sun was perhaps the earliest. Which at this point we all know is the other way around and more or less in conflict with the Bible, thus the trial. So Darwinism wasn’t the first issue without a doubt and won’t be the last.

Intelligent Design is different than creationism, followers believe only that the complexity of the natural world could not have occurred by luck and randomness. Some entity must have created the complexity is the core thread of thought. The designer ultimately can be anything or anyone. William Paley popularized the design argument:

If we assume that a watch must have been fashioned by a watchmaker, then we should assume that an ordered universe must have been fashioned by a divine Creator.

The limited scope of Intelligent Design theory makes it compatible with a wide range of theories. Some ID theorists believe in evolution—or at least that species can change over time. The main delta from all-in science is that intelligent design does not assume that everything has a natural cause.

What is the Rapture? Set me free and take me home

by David K. on Apr.11, 2009, under Foretell, Future

What is The Rapture?

The Second Coming of Christ will occur in stages. First, He will remove all Christians from the Earth, to protect them. This is called “The Rapture.” The term comes from the Latin verb raptare, and the Greek word harpizo, both meaning “to be caught up” or “to be snatched up.” Jesus will “snatch us” out of harm’s way.

Most Christians believe in the Rapture and the Tribulation, which will be followed by a 1000 years of Christ reigning together with the resurrected saints.

Christians who do not believe in the Rapture and the Millennial Kingdom are referred to as “amillennialists”. They believe that mankind will simply become better and better through the efforts of the Church, and when mankind becomes holy enough Christ will return.

After The Rapture, God will begin executing judgments against unbelievers, during a period called the Tribulation. At the end of the Tribulation all nations will attack Israel, and Jesus Christ will physically return, leading the armies of heaven. At the Battle of Armageddon they will destroy everyone who is not a believer. Then Satan will be bound, and Jesus will set up the Millennial Kingdom, headquartered in Jerusalem. Jesus and the saints will rule over the nations of the Earth for a 1000 years. During this period there will be people born who are not loyal to Christ.

The prophesy continues that a large group will take up arms against the Lord and be defeated. Then, Christ will judge all who have ever lived, giving rewards to some and punishment to others. Those who were “destroyed” will be cast into the Lake of Fire, i.e., Hell. After that, God will destroy heaven and Earth because they have been polluted by sin. He will create a new heaven and a new Earth, put those who were saved on the new Earth, and rule it forever.

What is the Bible?

by David K. on Mar.25, 2009, under Faith

The Bible is the account of God’s action in the world and his purpose with all creation. The writing of the Bible took place over sixteen centuries and is the work of over forty human authors.

The Bible is a collection of 66 books written by about 40 authors, in three different languages, on three different continents, over approximately 1600 years. The Bible claims to be inspired and inerrant. This means that the Bible claims to be from God and that it is without error in everything it addresses. It is the source of the Christian religion in that the Bible contains the words of God and how the Christian is to apply the words of God to his life.

The Bible describes the origin of man in the Garden of Eden along with his fall into sin and out of fellowship with God. It then describes how God called out a special people to Himself, the Israelites. He promised the Israelites a future Messiah who would restore mankind’s relationship with God.
